Traumas in childhood and adolescence have far-reaching, long-lasting consequences. The psychological impairments are complex, varied and not easily recognizable as effects of trauma. Nevertheless, timely therapeutic intervention provides an opportunity to alleviate or cure psychological disorders, on the one hand, and to strengthen resilience on the other. Psychodynamic psychotherapies play an indispensable part in the range of available approaches to trauma therapy and they draw on a wide range of technical treatment concepts. This volume introduces these therapies and provides insights into psychodynamic clinical practice.
